$25,000 Premiums for Health Care Insurance. You Don’t Have That Problem
Have you heard the phrase “I got 99 problems but…” When it comes to health insurance premiums you can finish that statement with “I got 99 problems but paying $25,000 in health insurance premiums isn’t one of them.”
The Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) has released their 2024 Employer Health Benefits Survey. The report opens with this doozy….
Section 1: Cost of Health Insurance
The average annual health insurance premiums in 2024 are $8,951 for single coverage and $25,572 for family coverage. The average single coverage premium increased 6% in 2024 while the average family premium increased 7%. The average family premium has increased 24% since 2019 and 52% since 2014.
$9,000 for single folks and $25,000 for family coverage! The UAW has negotiated and maintained health insurance for members under the GM National Agreement in which all premiums are paid by GM. Below are some other benefit improvements negotiated in the 2023 contract. When it comes to insurance premiums – you may have 99 problems but that ain’t one of em!
