St. Louis Local 136 Retirees Still In The/Our Fight!
Today, I had the opportunity to attend the monthly meeting of the UAW Local 136 Retirees. These good folks worked at the Chrysler St. Louis Assembly Center in Fenton, Mo. The meeting was dominated by discussion of member items. However, they were very interested in the strike at Wentzville. I was given the opportunity to explain how things were going and how they could help if they were interested. Interested they are! We talked about how they could come walk picket with our members. That wasn’t all, as they left the meeting these retirees opened their hearts and their pockets. By the time the building was empty, the collection bucket was full to the tune of $705!
It was my honor to accept this donation from UAW Local 136 President Ken Bougeno, his Executive Board and the generous retirees they represent. I immediately drove out to the union hall and presented this donation to Local 2250 President Katie Deatherage.
Thank You Local 136 Retirees!
