Now Is The Perfect Time To Update Our Vans
GM Authority has a great idea – This is the Perfect Time to Update Our Vans…
What’s more, updating the Express and Savana won’t require a cash-intensive, ground-up reinvention. Rather, a few practical, overdue improvements may fit the bill. Key areas to address would include:
- Lighting: Outdated halogen headlights should be replaced with modern LEDs, both front and interior.
- Cabin: A redesigned dash, new door cards, and updated controls could greatly improve the cabin space.
- Connectivity: USB-C ports, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Bluetooth 5.0 are essentials in 2025.
- Telematics: 5G connectivity should replace 4G LTE, enhancing fleet tracking and service capabilities.
- Cargo Options: A factory-sealed, insulated bulkhead would offer a professional, functional solution long demanded by commercial buyers, replacing the current array of flimsy aftermarket partitions.
Taking a step back, a simple update to the Express and Savana could yield substantial, extending the lifecycle for these proven nameplates while continuing to rack in the cash. And with ICE powertrains back on the table, the time is now.
