Labor And The Closed Mind
Ike Gittlin shares his views in Labor and the Closed Mind...
Chart’s show that as union density declines, the middle-class and poor slide backwards. It is this steady erosion of financial security, and the loss of belief in the American Dream, that has pitted us against each other. The loss of faith in our economy’s ability to deliver broad-based prosperity has resulted in a loss of credibility in the four other institutions. Not, as the Closed Mind Club would have us believe, the other way around.
If you are cheering as the Closed Mind Club wipes out public sector labor agreements, turns the National Labor Relations Board into a shill for the corporate world, corrupts the courts so workers no longer get equal justice under the law, and steadily removes the integrity of the data we use to judge their economic performance, you are dancing on your own grave.
