A Message From Member David Rogers
You Just Got a Raise, Maybe You Should Increase Your CAP
I know, we hear it all the time, “CAP needs more money” but it is true. CAP is the committee we have to help connect our members to those running for office who would help us, but there is so much more. CAP has the ability to contribute to friendly candidates, provide literature, invest in technology upgrades, and organize volunteers. That being said, these things don’t happen in a vacuum. But now is the perfect time because at GM we just got a raise in COLA and our 3% raise by contract; you can make the increase and barely notice it. I understand times are hard, but the elections we face are increasingly stacked; multiple ballot initiatives, more need for candidates, and the impact of these choices is larger than ever. We can absolutely put union supporters, even better union members, in office but we cannot do it without help.
David Rogers
