Local 2250 Brings Home (3) 2026 UAW-LUCA Awards!
UAW Local 2250 continues to improve it’s communication capacity and quality as determined by this year’s UAW-LUCA Awards. LUCA is the Local Union Communication Association. The 2026 UAW-LUCA Excellence in Communication Contest celebrates outstanding labor communication by local unions. You can watch the 18 minute ceremony by clicking here.
Local 2250 was honored to receive three awards this year. Two of them by first year members of the Newsline Committee. First shift Trim member JOSH LONG took his photography skills to a higher level with his photo at the Missouri State Capitol during one of the largest rallies in state history. This photo earned him FIRST PLACE in Photography!

3rd Shift Skilled Tradesman Robert Goetz made a splash in his first year on the committee with his essay SUB PAY: A Back Story. This excellent piece can be viewed at the link and brought home 3rd place in Essay Writing! At this point Robert has written two pieces for Newsline and won an award for one of them!

The efforts of Josh, Robert and the other members of the NEWSLINE Committee – George Ferguson, O, Monica, and Shana Shaw along with other contributors added up to help UAW LOCAL 2250 win the Best Website Award. This is the third time our website has won this award and it is the work of many people that make it happen.

I would like to thank the LUCA Advisory Council and Chairman John Davis along with the IUAW Communications Department for their hard work and dedicated effort to make these awards a reality.
