Our Local Shows Up In Solidarity
Last week the UAW Local 2250 Organizing Committee led by Chairman Stephen Miller took the long ride to Kansas City on a cold, windy day to support the brave workers at Emotive. Chairman Miller shared this report….
UAW Local 2250’s Organizing Committee answered the call to action from UAW Local 31 (Fairfax, KS) in response to the union busting actions of a parts supplier (Emotiv). Emotive supplies parts to the GM Fairfax Assembly Plant. Our local along with other UAW units, UAW Region 4 Director Brandon Campbell, members from other unions (SEIU & IASTE), the Missouri Worker Center- Stand Up KC, and the community all showed up in Solidarity! Emotiv workers have been working diligently to organize their coworkers to help them join our Union! Emotiv has wrongfully been terminating workers who have been standing up! First on March 6th, then again as we were driving down to Kansas City they fired more employees. Emotiv management thought these scare tactics would scare the employees. No, it fired them up! Labrea Tolston was one worker who was terminated on March 17th and seeing the support they have backing her she said she has peace of mind knowing she made the right call to stand up, Emotiv has mistreated the workers long enough!
