Pro-Labor State Senators Are Fighting To Save Paid Leave You Voted For
Last night, the Missouri Senate had a repeal of Proposition A, the UAW endorsed and voter approved referendum that raised the minimum wage and created a paid leave program, scheduled for action. These plans were sidelined as Pro-Labor, Democratic Senators took the floor and refused to sit down. If these worker advocates can hold off this attack there will be benefits for local 2250 members. The law would not immediately affect us since we are under a collective bargaining agreement. However, when that expires in 2028 it will become part of our benefit package. One provision allows members to roll their earned paid leave hours over from year to year. We currently do not have that option.
This voter-approved legislation is set to begin on May 1, 2025. Channel 4 shared this story on how businesses are preparing.
