UAW Local 2250 Fights For Workers in Jefferson City!
UAW Local 2250 CAP Committee Chairman David Rogers shares this report….
UAW Local 2250 Fights for Workers at the State Capitol!
David Rogers, CAP Committee Chairman
On March 31, 2026, active and retired members of UAW Local 2250 attended and served as delegates to the Missouri AFL-CIO Joint Legislative Conference. This was an opportunity for our members to join with organized labor from across the state to bring our concerns to our elected officials. We heard speeches from members of the Labor Caucus; a bipartisan group of elected officials who work across the aisle to advance legislation that protects the rights we all fight for.
AFL-CIO of Missouri President Jake Hummel went over several pieces of legislation to target, including reforms to workers compensation, rules governing autonomous vehicles, local municipal election rules, and many others. Additionally, several of our delegates took the opportunity to watch from both the house gallery and the senate floor. This unique viewpoint allowed them to see how legislation in this state goes from proposal to law. Each night ended with solidarity, fellowship, and sharing stories of both struggles and successes across unions and localities. This was a terrific opportunity to build towards a coalition of working people across the state. I would like to thank the membership for their approval and support.
All members with an interest in helping support yourself, your local union, and the labor movement through the legislative process are invited to attend our CAP meetings on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:45, 1:00, and 2:45 at the union hall.
