This story is an inspiring report of coordinating a diverse workforce to make big gains&#8230;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>The three-week unfair labor practice strike was the first time workers had ever struck the JBS Greeley beef packing plant, one of the company\u2019s largest. ULP charges against JBS included the illegal termination of a member of the bargaining committee and surveillance and intimidation of workers for participation in union activity.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>With 57 languages spoken under one roof, the strike united the plant\u2019s largely immigrant workforce to take on the biggest meatpacking company in the world.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>The local had spent nearly a year in negotiations following the contract\u2019s expiration last July.
