Here’s The Inside Scoop: STL Anheuser-Busch Teamsters May Get $1200 Per Week In STRIKE PAY!
I am proud to have written the resolution that raised strike pay for all eligible UAW members to $500 a week. Someone in the Teamsters is a better writer, maybe two somebody’s. With the conract between the Teamsters and Anheuser-Busch due to expire on March 1, 2024 the International Teamsters put their chips on the table by raising strike pay to $1000 a week.
In a major development in the fight for a strong contract protecting 5,000 Teamsters at Anheuser-Busch, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters announced today it will more than double strike pay to $1,000 per week for Anheuser-Busch Teamsters nationwide.
Count me as impressed! But wait, there is more to the story. Inside the Teamsters there are certain regions/states that have a seperate strike fund. Belonging to this fund is voluntary. Evidently, at some point in the past a local union administration had decided to participate in this seperate strike fund. The weekly benefit is $200 per week. Add both these funds together and St. Louis Teamsters at Anheuser-Busch will receive $1200 per week in strike benefits if an agreement is not reached by March 1!
