One Simple Thing Helps All Workers: Solidarity
The UAW List of Union Made Vehicles is a easy but powerful way for UAW members, union members, and all Americans to support higher wages, better working conditions, and a stronger economy. Study after study supports the fact that the gains made by union workers are shared by all workers. This point was driven home recently as non-union automakers rushed to give their employees raises following the record contracts negotiated by the UAW and the Big 3 automakers.
Electrek summed it up with this headline…
UAW win helps nonunion workers too as VW, Hyundai, Toyota, Honda hike pay.
The good news doesn’t stop there. This list is being shared by other unions as a way to help their members know which vehicles help support a better life. Recently the AFL-CIO shared the list with it’s 12.5 million members on thier website at this link: https://aflcio.org/UnionCars
Even better, the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) has decided to help spread the word and posted the list to their site https://www.aft.org/member-benefits/discounts-shopping,
If you or anyone you know is looking to buy a car, truck, or van please share this list as a way of helping all workers. Who knows, this list may grow to include vehicles from VW, Hyundai, Toyota, Honda, and more as workers at those companies decide not to rely on the Big 3 for their next raise but use thier own voice by joining the UAW.
