A couple of days ago I was in San Diego, CA and had a chance to visit the fine Cadillac/Buick/GMC dealership pictured here. I walked the lot like a regular customer and when the salesman approached we had a long conversation about several of the vehicles on the lot. I specifically asked if they had any GMC Canyon pickups and he said when they got them they are sold almost immediately. Particularly, the Canyon AT4 and AT4X models. He stated they could sell all that they could get! This Road and Track review may provide some answers to the question of why they are so popular!
That said, considering the pricing on these vehicles the strong demand is a testament to these trucks. We knew it already, but congratulations UAW Local 2250, you are building a winner!
